Leading social media in startups, Fortune 500, fintech and higher ed since 2009

Charissa Carnall is a Global Social Media professional. She is passionate about helping churches reach new audiences by utilizing a specific content strategy - not talking about themselves. This is achieved by recognizing what your social audience cares about and creating content around that.

As the Global Community Management Lead at Western Union, Charissa's real-time engagement and personal human touch speaking as the voice of the Western Union brand connected customers and potential customers to the brand while building advocates. Charissa helped the Facebook community grow from 160,000 to over 1.5 million members in less than 1 year. Charissa led the Global Community Management team and worked closely alongside Western Union's First Class Social Care team. Western Union is an excellent example of this reverse engineered content strategy. Here more about this strategy during my interview with Social Media Church podcast.

Before joining the Global Social Media team at Western Union, Charissa was working as the Social Media Manager at WUPay (formerly eBillme, Inc.), a New York based startup in the financial industry.

Previously, Charissa worked at FOX10 News in Mobile, AL where she developed the station's social media presences and maintained those profiles as they grew to earn credibility within the community. She was the first Social Media Journalist in the Gulf Coast market as a nightly on-air reporter. She developed her own nightly segment, the Daily Dot Com, which is still on the air.

Most recently Charissa managed social media for Samford University. She built the social media content strategy, manages all customer engagement and developed the first social media internship for the university. In the first 12 months as the Social Media Manager, Charissa took the university from a ranking of 171 to 49 in D1 NCAA universities which made Samford #4 for ‘Climbing the Ladder.’ She also increased the university organic followers by 154,000 and organic engagement rate by 100%.

In her current role, Charissa is a Success Manager at Sprinklr, Inc. for some of the world’s most loved brands across the southeast!

If it can be done on social media, I believe Charissa can do it.

How I can help your church…

Social Media Strategy

I believe in a social media content strategy that actually reaches your audience where they are and offers them content that they care about. Let’s build their trust before we ask them to attend a service or event. Using Social Listening I will develop a unique and custom content strategy for your church.

Conference Speaker (virtual available)

I can bring a high energy message around creating the right content for your audience and your future audience with real-life stories and visual examples to any size audience. If you’re looking for someone to help church leaders understand this new way of thinking about social media and content, I’m here to share that message.

Content Planning & Execution

You might be a one-man or one-woman show in communications and have a difficult time managing social media to begin. Now we have a new strategy and that adds another layer of difficulty. That’s where I come in! I can schedule your content and help you execute the content strategy on your channels.

On-Site Training

You may have a team of staff members or volunteers dedicated to managing social media for your church - fabulous! I can come to your campus and train these individuals in-person with hands-on training that will leave them ready to take the social media reigns and run with it!

On The Menu - Ask Me Anything lunch Events

I’m inviting small groups of church leaders who have areas of social media where they are stuck to ask me their burning questions. These intimate events will allow me to give you one-on-one advice, suggestions and answers to your questions with the goal of helping you get 'unstuck' and have a clear path forward for your social media plan.

podcast guest

Looking for more content on your church or ministry’s podcast? Need to fill your guest calendar? I’m happy to hop on and help your audience learn about social media, content strategy and how they can be more successful in reaching both their congregation and the community around them using social media.
